WHY THE NAME HOTEL HIPPODROME ??
Contrary to what its name suggests, the Paris Hippodrome, built in 1899 between the Place de Clichy and Rue Caulaincourt is a great venue for up to 5000 spectators. Bought in 1911 by Léon Gaumont, L-Hippo Palace was destroyed and replaced in 1930 by the largest cinema in the world (now defunct). |
